Pixel Dissolve Effect: Turn a Photo into a Subject Breaking Apart into Pixels

Parts of your photo break up into square pixel fragments, as if the image were disintegrating or glitching off a screen. Depending on the settings, that can mean a few loose pixels peeling away or large sections scattering. It is a stylized edit, and exactly which areas dissolve is decided by the AI, so it changes from run to run.

Light gives subtle fragmentation, so the subject stays almost whole. Medium, the default, is balanced: clearly dissolving but still recognizable. Heavy brings extensive fragmentation and a more abstract, dramatic result. If a face needs to stay recognizable, stick with Light or Medium.

It sets how big the fragments are. Small gives fine, detailed fragments that read like digital dust or static. Medium shows clearly visible blocks. Large makes bold, chunky blocks with a retro 8-bit glitch feel. Heavy with Large suits a poster; Light with Small is a quieter touch.

Not directly. There is no brush or mask, so the AI decides where the image breaks apart. If you want a face or logo to stay intact, use Light or Medium intensity and generate two or three versions, then keep the one where the important part survived.
