There are three presets. Happy & Cheerful gives the character a bright smile, Natural & Neutral keeps a calm face, and Playful & Fun adds a mischievous grin. The expression is redrawn rather than copied from your photo, so if you want to keep the face you actually made, pick Natural & Neutral. You can also type your own expression of up to 50 characters, such as "surprised", "smug" or "sleepy".
The style deliberately exaggerates: bigger eyes, rounder cheeks, smoother skin. Likeness mostly comes through hairstyle, hair color, glasses, face shape and clothing. Use a sharp, front-facing photo where your face takes up a good part of the frame, with no sunglasses or harsh side shadows. If it still looks off, run the same photo on the other model before changing the photo, since the two read faces differently.
Kids work very well, because the style already favors round faces and big eyes. Pets are less predictable: the prompt is written for a cartoon character portrait, so a dog or cat may come back slightly humanized. A close-up of the animal's face helps. For groups, crop to one person and run each photo separately. With several faces in one shot, the model may merge them or focus on just one.
GPT Image 2.5 is the default. It costs 8 credits per portrait and always outputs a 1:1 square, which is handy for profile pictures. Commercial use such as a streamer logo or printed merch is generally fine, but you are responsible for having the rights to the uploaded photo, and you need the person's consent if it isn't you. The output is a generic animated-film look, so don't present it as official art from any film studio.
