Yes. The filter removes all hair from the head regardless of gender or hair length, and long hair that falls over the shoulders is removed too. Very thick hair hides the real skull outline, so the AI has to estimate it and the head can come out slightly too round or too small. A photo with hair tied back or slicked down gives it a better guide.

The filter targets scalp hair. The prompt tells the model to keep facial details, expression, clothing and background unchanged, so beards, eyebrows and glasses normally stay. Once in a while a thin beard gets softened or a hairline shadow remains. If that happens, re-run once, or switch models: GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana 2.1 handle edges a little differently.

The AI cannot see the skull under your hair, so it guesses the shape from your face and the camera angle. Big, voluminous hair and photos shot from below are the usual causes. Use a straight-on photo at eye level, with your forehead visible and hair pulled back if possible. Side profiles and tilted heads are harder and need more retries.
